Whoever has struggled to make sense of an incomprehensible instruction manual will understand the importance of quality and accuracy of technical translations.
With patent specifications translation however, mistakes may have particularly serious consequences. The exact form and wording of the original text must be strictly adhered to. Not only a wrong choice of words, but even incorrect punctuation may limit the scope of protection.
In close cooperation with several IP law firms I have acquired comprehensive expertise which I strive to expand continuously.
For quality assurance and in order to ensure the maximum terminological consistency I work with the translation memory system SDL Trados.
Confidentiality, reliability and punctuality are of prime importance for me. My services are oriented on the European standard DIN EN 15038 for translations.
Certified Translations
Where foreign diplomas or official documents are needed for administrative procedures, a certified translation is required as a rule.
The certification may only be accomplished by a state-examined, publicly appointed and sworn translator.

Prices
My prices are generally based on the number of words in the source text (counted in Word for Windows), the difficulty of the language and terminology of the original text as well as the scheduled date.
For translations of legal documents I generally offer an all-inclusive price.
For smallest orders I charge a minimum fee of 40.- Euros plus 19 % VAT.
